Shortness of Breath

I'm in my mid-60s and while not in terrible shape, I'm not in the best condition either. I've read a fair number of comments on this website about altitude sickness but only a few comments about any difficulty with breathing from lack of oxygen. What has been anyone's experience? I've heard some of the buses and hotels have oxygen. Did anyone find this to be true? Cusco is only the beginning - Bolivia is even higher. Did anyone on your trip skip many of the activities? I'd hate to go and then not be able to do anything.

Yes, I had shortness of breath as soon as we landed in Cusco, but the activities are very well planned by Tauck so they are good for all levels. Just drink lots of water, the tour director will tell you that.....and they are right! Also, the coca tea works very well for the headaches (high altitude causes major headache)
