Help: Places to see to in SLC and tips on travelling alone.
I am planning a trip to go alone to SLC from Nov 3 - 11. I'm from NYC and never travel. My plan is to travel with only a backpack and a drawstring bag. My biggest concern is safety being alone traveling in the middle of nowhere and hiking. Are there any tips you can give me? Anything I must bring along with me? What places would you recommend whether its nature, activities that I would never normally see or anything you particularly like in Utah? Also which city would be best to find an airbnb for my trip? How do I rent a car without it costing a fortune and worrying about all the miles I would out on it.
There are a few places weather permitting that I want to see:
1. Fifth Water Hot Springs Trail Head
2. Bryce Canyon National Park (Doing one of these trails: Mossy Cave, Sunset to Sunrise, or Queen’s Garden)
3. Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument (Not sure which trail yet)
Here is what I am planning to pack with me:
T-shirt (2)
Sweatpants (1)
Boxers (3)
Wool sweater (1)
Beanie (1)
Swimming shorts (1)
Shirt (2)
Pants (2)
Wool socks (2)
Sneakers (or should I wear these Dr. Martens Men's Tobias Boot instead?)
