Tauck Statement on Lock Workers Strike in Germany - Dated July 10, 2013

(7/10/13) Union-organized lock workers on several key waterways in Germany are staging a series of eight-hour strikes, with a resulting disruption to water traffic along rivers and canals. No schedule of when and where these strikes will occur has been announced, making it extremely difficult for Tauck to determine and communicate if (and how) our river cruises in the region will be impacted. There have been some reports that the walkouts are scheduled to run through Sunday, July 14, but this information is best regarded as uncertain.

Impacts to Tauck departures:

• At present, only one Tauck river cruise (the July 3 northbound departure of “Budapest to Amsterdam” aboard the ms Swiss Jewel) has been impacted.

• The Swiss Jewel has remained docked in Regensburg since yesterday, and regularly scheduled sightseeing is being accomplished via motorcoach.

• The extent of any additional impacts to the departure remains unclear, although we are formulating a range of contingency plans to deal with a range of possible scenarios.

• Likewise, it is impossible to know which, if any, future departures will be impacted, or exactly what those impacts might be.

• We are continuing to monitor the situation closely, and will provide updates as soon as we have any additional information to share.
