Hello:

I'm looking for advice on whether to drag a sport jacket on my trip to Australia/New Zealand. I really wouldn't look forward to squashing it in my suitcase or carrying it on all those internal flights. Anyone been on the tour who could help?

    It's been a few years since I took this trip, but I did not need one then, and I cannot imagine you would need one today. I have not yet been on a Tauck trip where a sports jacket was required.

    Our group last January was about 1/2 and 1/2, I had no problem whatsover without a sports coat. We did do fine dining in Melbourne and Sydney outside of the tour and had no problems. Nice long sleeve shirt and slacks is very workable.

    This has been discussed on many of the Tauck Forums. Personally, I enjoy wearing a sport jacket for the welcome and farewell reception/dinners. But this is YOUR trip! Do whatever you feel comfortable. You won't feel out of place whether you wear a jacket or not. No one will think any differently about you.
