Format of the tours....
Two questions... Hoping to do the Essence of South America tour.
1) My wife and I have never gone on a tour. Historically, we have rented cars and done our own thing. We love that freedom. I was wondering how the tour works. Do they rouse you early in the morning (and how early do the tours go out?), put you on a bus and drive you around the entire day stopping at locations along the way - having you file out and back into the bus, or is it more informal?
2) It looks like we might wind up on one of the smaller tours which have only 24 people instead of 38. Is it worth the extra expense and what would be the difference for the persons on the tour?
