My husband and I are seeing Italy for the first time and want to know if anyone has suggestions for the free time on the 8 day trip to Venice, Florence and Rome. And is the temperature going to be a problem in August?
My husband and I took this trip last June (my second to Italy and his first). You will love it! We had unusually
Hot weather -- 95 degrees everyday in all 3 cities with no rain. We flew into Venice a day early and visited murano.
We also stayed an additional day in Rome. I would recommend visiting the forum early in the morning and take a quick
Cab ride over to the trastevere neighborhood for lunch and shopping. Check with the concierge for restaurant recommendations that are not too touristy. If you are staying a few days at the end of the tour, you could always take a tour of the amalfi coast.
