  Yes they are. You can also go on to the platform on the rear .On the trip I was on Tauck had the last car .We got great pictures

  The train trip to Denali has domed cars, and there are two levels -- upstairs for viewing, and downstairs for having lunch. Plus, you can go onto the outdoor platforms to take photos. For the White Pass & Yukon trip from Skagway, those cars are not doomed but you can go out on the front or back platforms to take photos. These platforms are smaller than the outdoor platforms for the Denali train carrs.
