Luggage Requirments in China

We are booked for the China trip on September 27th. In reading the Tauck website it seems the luggage requirements are very strict. Even the specific measurements for the carry on luggage. Has anyone had any problems with luggage. Are the requirements strictly enforced?

Luggage requirements are set by the inter-china airlines. They will probably weigh your bag at check-in and if it is over the 20Kilo (44 lbs)limit you will be charged a fairly large fee for each flight. (You could call Tauck's flight line to ask about the exact fees?) They are also much stricter on carry-ons, although they are unlikely to weigh it if it meets the size requirements. Pack light! Laundry costs were quite reasonable. China is an amazing country, so much to see and explore!

Inside China, Tauck collects luggage at hotel, takes to airport and checks it in. They do their magic and we never worried about the weight and we were significantly above the 44 pound requirement. Carry on was no different than at home though it is easier to check in as much as possible.
