Cell phone for Israel and Jordan Trip

I am going on the Israel-Jordan tour in late October. Does anyone have recommendation on getting a Cell phone? I'm currently on the Verizon Network. I understand that is not compatible in too many countries.

    Check with Verizon. Several people on our trip contacted their cell phone carriers before they left and received authorization to use their phones. They worked well in Israel...not so sure about Jordan.

    Hi,

    We bought a phone from Mobal.com four years ago and have used it all over the World without any problems even in Egypt and Jordan. There is no monthly fees only for incoming and outgoing calls. All our traveling friends have one. We tell the office and family to email us and we call them so we don't run up a big bill. They ship the phone really fast. Go to their website.
