Iceland footwear

We recently booked the Iceland tour for July 2012. I note postings that recommend "comfortable, sturdy walking shoes ... with good ankle support." Help - we don't own such shoes, since our walking is usually done on paths or sidewalks. We've traveled to Australia, Hawaii, Eastern Europe, and points in between with our trusty Nikes and/or Rockports and have done extensive walking, even on the occasional lava field in Hawaii. Will we be in big trouble with that same footwear in Iceland? Thanks.

Your shoes will be fine! Trails were not difficult and were established pathways. We just had similar shoes to yours and did fine. Have a great trip!
