A Must Read: Facing the Lion

Hi all. I've just finished reading a book titled "Facing the Lion, Growing Up Maasai on the African Savanna," by Joseph Lemasolai Lekuton. It is a short book, about 120 pages, written by a Maasai warrior about growing up in Kenya. My wife and I did the Tanzania and Kenya safari a couple of years ago and I wish I had read the book before we went. I highly recommend reading it before you go to anyone who is going on this safari. It is written primarily for adolescents, but I have to say that didn't bother me (and I have a Master's Degree in English literature and taught literature and writing on the university level). I learned a lot about the Maasai while on the safari, but there are insights and knowledge of the Maasai in the book that I wish I had known while I was there. It's available on Amazon for Kindle and in paperback, both under six dollars.
