A to B or B to A?

New to River Cruising. Usually cruise Seabourn, but looking for something new.

Southbound or Northbound? Looking at Oct 2012 trips.

Any comments or preferences would be appreciated regarding these alternatives.

Also, anyone take the Musical Danube Budapest to Prague cruise? We are interrested in music (attend symphonies, etc.) but would also like to view local architecture and hear some non-musical history commentary during cruise. I don't want to focus solely on the musical history.

thanks

I went A to B ... Amsterdam to Bucharest. Since I was travelling in mid to late September, I chose to follow the sun (as I hoped!) from north to south along the waterways. As it turned out, by the time I got to ... hmm ... Hungary on, you needed to have a few extra layers to wear. By the time I got to Bucharest it was cold and wet, but of course, how was I to know that was the start of the early, and very cold European winter of 2010/11! No autumn that year, just straight into winter.

Can't help with the musical part of your question, except to say that the special concert and dinner in Vienna on the Grand European was Very Special indeed!

    Hope you enjoy your trip,

    Cheers,
