Since we can't update the "About me" field, I thought I'd put some information here.
I'm a retired electrical engineer, having spent the majority of my career in communications. I hold 32 US patents, mostly on communications subjects.
Although it was not the focus of my career work, I have a decent knowledge of power distribution, both in the US and internationally, especially for residential service. I also have some knowledge of three-phase and single-phase electric motors and their control systems, but mostly only smaller motors maybe up to 10HP.
After I retired, I took classes in woodworking and developed some level of skill. I've taught woodworking classes, short courses, in veneering, carving, dovetails, and box-making. I’ve built a lot of furniture for our home, to the point where my wife told me she doesn’t have room for any more in our house😊
My wife, Judy, and I travel a couple of times a year and I document our trips on our blog, www.mikeandjudytravel.com

@"Smiling Sam" Thanks for the clarifications. I've been to Istanbul a couple of times on non-Tauck tours. The most recent was in 2022. I agree there's a lot to see there. (View Post)1 -

Re: Wind Star Ship
Nothing planned on a Wind Star ship at this time. The most important thing when choosing a tour/cruise is the itinerary. I would do another cruise on a Wind Star type vessel, but if the itinerary was… (View Post)2 -
Re: Wind Star Ship
Added note: The Wind Star now uses StarLink for Internet access which is much faster than the older technology that used geosynchronous satellites. But there was a problem – StarLink blocks access to… (View Post)2
