Since we can't update the "About me" field, I thought I'd put some information here.
I'm a retired electrical engineer, having spent the majority of my career in communications. I hold 32 US patents, mostly on communications subjects.
Although it was not the focus of my career work, I have a decent knowledge of power distribution, both in the US and internationally, especially for residential service. I also have some knowledge of three-phase and single-phase electric motors and their control systems, but mostly only smaller motors maybe up to 10HP.
After I retired, I took classes in woodworking and developed some level of skill. I've taught woodworking classes, short courses, in veneering, carving, dovetails, and box-making. I’ve built a lot of furniture for our home, to the point where my wife told me she doesn’t have room for any more in our house😊
My wife, Judy, and I travel a couple of times a year and I document our trips on our blog, www.mikeandjudytravel.com

Re: Hotel Napoleon
I just looked up the ship (Sapphire). It has a capacity of 98 passengers. Assuming that most of the passengers are two to a room, that's 49 rooms. Of course, the ship may not be at capacity, and… (View Post)1 -
Re: New Smaller Groups Introduced by Tauck
I'm too old to travel economy - we go Business for comfort. I can sleep on those lie-flat seats - and really appreciate being able to do so on those long flights. Remember the old saying, "… (View Post)2 -
Re: New Smaller Groups Introduced by Tauck
We've been happy with the small group tours. Our last tour was 22 people and it was a good group. We had one tour that was only 10 people (during COVID time) and there were some problems. Two co… (View Post)1
