Since we can't update the "About me" field, I thought I'd put some information here.
I'm a retired electrical engineer, having spent the majority of my career in communications. I hold 32 US patents, mostly on communications subjects.
Although it was not the focus of my career work, I have a decent knowledge of power distribution, both in the US and internationally, especially for residential service. I also have some knowledge of three-phase and single-phase electric motors and their control systems, but mostly only smaller motors maybe up to 10HP.
After I retired, I took classes in woodworking and developed some level of skill. I've taught woodworking classes, short courses, in veneering, carving, dovetails, and box-making. I’ve built a lot of furniture for our home, to the point where my wife told me she doesn’t have room for any more in our house😊
My wife, Judy, and I travel a couple of times a year and I document our trips on our blog, www.mikeandjudytravel.com

Re: Paris Pass
You can purchase a book of subway tickets or a pass for some number of days. I recommend the book of tickets because they never expire. If you don't use all of them, you can use them next time y… (View Post)1 -
Re: Insurance Refund
I did like cathyandsteve. I had a number of trips booked and just rolled them into the future. On Regent, I think I got a 25% $ bonus for rolling over, plus they credited me with the nights for Seven… (View Post)2 -
Re: Insurance Refund
I traveled to Japan a number of times on business and never needed a visa. If Americans need one now, that's a significant change. Mike (View Post)1
