Since we can't update the "About me" field, I thought I'd put some information here.
I'm a retired electrical engineer, having spent the majority of my career in communications. I hold 32 US patents, mostly on communications subjects.
Although it was not the focus of my career work, I have a decent knowledge of power distribution, both in the US and internationally, especially for residential service. I also have some knowledge of three-phase and single-phase electric motors and their control systems, but mostly only smaller motors maybe up to 10HP.
After I retired, I took classes in woodworking and developed some level of skill. I've taught woodworking classes, short courses, in veneering, carving, dovetails, and box-making. I’ve built a lot of furniture for our home, to the point where my wife told me she doesn’t have room for any more in our house😊
My wife, Judy, and I travel a couple of times a year and I document our trips on our blog, www.mikeandjudytravel.com

I was there in October 2018 - it was HOT. But it was a very interesting tour. Visiting the pyramids was something I always wanted to do. And the tombs in the Valley of the Kings were much more than I… (View Post)2 -
Re: AIR TRAVEL
My reason for not going to Morocco through any European city airport is that you get a nice lie-flat seat across the Atlantic to the European city, but then you get that European "first class&qu… (View Post)1 -
Re: The Louvre and St Chapelle
I've gone to St Chapelle as a walk-up and never had any problems. But maybe it wasn't busy the times I was there. (View Post)1
