Since we can't update the "About me" field, I thought I'd put some information here.
I'm a retired electrical engineer, having spent the majority of my career in communications. I hold 32 US patents, mostly on communications subjects.
Although it was not the focus of my career work, I have a decent knowledge of power distribution, both in the US and internationally, especially for residential service. I also have some knowledge of three-phase and single-phase electric motors and their control systems, but mostly only smaller motors maybe up to 10HP.
After I retired, I took classes in woodworking and developed some level of skill. I've taught woodworking classes, short courses, in veneering, carving, dovetails, and box-making. I’ve built a lot of furniture for our home, to the point where my wife told me she doesn’t have room for any more in our house😊
My wife, Judy, and I travel a couple of times a year and I document our trips on our blog, www.mikeandjudytravel.com

@henrypoon_66 - if anyone participates in social media, all of that is already well known. Facebook, for example, monetizes their knowledge of you, and they know a whole lot about you. They do everyt… (View Post)1 -
Re: Ideas for S Africa visit at front end of Tanzania - Kenya Safari?
I really liked CapeTown. There's lots to see and do in the city and you can take a side trip to Cape of Good Hope. A visit to the top of Table Mountain is also interesting. We stayed at the Cape… (View Post)1 -
Re: Tauck raises suggested tip amounts
I don't understand your rational, Sealord. If the TD is reporting their income it would seem to be the same for tax purposes no matter the source (salary, bonus, or tips). I don't know of a… (View Post)1
