Since we can't update the "About me" field, I thought I'd put some information here.
I'm a retired electrical engineer, having spent the majority of my career in communications. I hold 32 US patents, mostly on communications subjects.
Although it was not the focus of my career work, I have a decent knowledge of power distribution, both in the US and internationally, especially for residential service. I also have some knowledge of three-phase and single-phase electric motors and their control systems, but mostly only smaller motors maybe up to 10HP.
After I retired, I took classes in woodworking and developed some level of skill. I've taught woodworking classes, short courses, in veneering, carving, dovetails, and box-making. I’ve built a lot of furniture for our home, to the point where my wife told me she doesn’t have room for any more in our house😊
My wife, Judy, and I travel a couple of times a year and I document our trips on our blog, www.mikeandjudytravel.com

Re: Tour Director Tipping
On Regent, all tips are included but we always give a bit extra to the Cabin Attendents and the Butler (if we have a butler). So there's an opportunity for the TD to get extra if they would take… (View Post)2 -

I use TSA locks on International trips and have never had one cut off. I assume they can open TSA locks, if necessary. (View Post)1 -
Re: Destination London
If you like Mark Rylance, look for the movie "The Outfit". It's a small budget movie, but very good. Mark Rylance is the protagonist. Highly recommended. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/… (View Post)1 -
Re: Medical insurance proof to enter Czech Republic
I was never asked to show proof of medical coverage when I went to the Czech Republic, but I had taken travel medical insurance and could have shown proof. Note that Medicare does not cover you outsi… (View Post)2
