Since we can't update the "About me" field, I thought I'd put some information here.
I'm a retired electrical engineer, having spent the majority of my career in communications. I hold 32 US patents, mostly on communications subjects.
Although it was not the focus of my career work, I have a decent knowledge of power distribution, both in the US and internationally, especially for residential service. I also have some knowledge of three-phase and single-phase electric motors and their control systems, but mostly only smaller motors maybe up to 10HP.
After I retired, I took classes in woodworking and developed some level of skill. I've taught woodworking classes, short courses, in veneering, carving, dovetails, and box-making. I’ve built a lot of furniture for our home, to the point where my wife told me she doesn’t have room for any more in our house😊
My wife, Judy, and I travel a couple of times a year and I document our trips on our blog, www.mikeandjudytravel.com

Re: I dream of Africa ..(my experience)
Great trip report and pictures. Looking forward to the next installment. Does Emirates give you that "Do I look like I fly economy" thing, or is that yours? (View Post)1 -

Re: Treasures of the Aegean
I did a Tauck Rome to Malta cruise on a Ponant ship with sails and the ship was nice. I'm very concerned about the report of the condition of the Windstar and, beyond that, the size of the cabin… (View Post)2 -
