Since we can't update the "About me" field, I thought I'd put some information here.
I'm a retired electrical engineer, having spent the majority of my career in communications. I hold 32 US patents, mostly on communications subjects.
Although it was not the focus of my career work, I have a decent knowledge of power distribution, both in the US and internationally, especially for residential service. I also have some knowledge of three-phase and single-phase electric motors and their control systems, but mostly only smaller motors maybe up to 10HP.
After I retired, I took classes in woodworking and developed some level of skill. I've taught woodworking classes, short courses, in veneering, carving, dovetails, and box-making. I’ve built a lot of furniture for our home, to the point where my wife told me she doesn’t have room for any more in our house😊
My wife, Judy, and I travel a couple of times a year and I document our trips on our blog, www.mikeandjudytravel.com

Late one afternoon, maybe 5 or 6 pm, I noticed water running down the driveway and investigated. Seems that the water heater in the garage was leaking. So I turn the water off to the water heater and… (View Post)1 -
Re: Just returned from Magic Of Morocco Tour...any questions?
@Noreen - That's the same attitude we have. We never know when something will happen that will prevent us from traveling. This year we did four trips and have three scheduled for 2023. If fact, … (View Post)5 -
Re: Just returned from Magic Of Morocco Tour...any questions?
My wife and I are pushing 80 and we didn't have any problems with the activity level on the tour. And I don't remember any very, very early wakeup calls. As I posted earlier, I blogged our … (View Post)0
