Since we can't update the "About me" field, I thought I'd put some information here.
I'm a retired electrical engineer, having spent the majority of my career in communications. I hold 32 US patents, mostly on communications subjects.
Although it was not the focus of my career work, I have a decent knowledge of power distribution, both in the US and internationally, especially for residential service. I also have some knowledge of three-phase and single-phase electric motors and their control systems, but mostly only smaller motors maybe up to 10HP.
After I retired, I took classes in woodworking and developed some level of skill. I've taught woodworking classes, short courses, in veneering, carving, dovetails, and box-making. I’ve built a lot of furniture for our home, to the point where my wife told me she doesn’t have room for any more in our house😊
My wife, Judy, and I travel a couple of times a year and I document our trips on our blog, www.mikeandjudytravel.com

Re: Namibia anyone?
If you look at the map of Namibia, it has an arm that reaches out towards Victoria Falls (close, but doesn't get all the way to Victoria Falls). I'll be heading to Victoria Falls soon and w… (View Post)1 -
Re: Magic of Morocco Blog, February 27-March 8, 2022
The buses were fine, modern. But no power on the ones when we went. No AC and no USB. The one we were on had WiFi. (View Post)1 -
Re: Namibia anyone?
Yes, Botswana is across the Chobe River from the east part of that arm of Namibia. But all of the west side of Botswana borders Namibia. (View Post)1
