For less expensive hotels you can stay in Mestre and take a (crowded) bus to Venice in the morning. But it really is nice to stay on the island. And try to find Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo in Venice… (View Post)1 -

We stayed in the Hotel Metropole (in Venice) and I would not recommend it. The hotel is old and has a lot of history so if that's what you're interested in, the hotel might be right for you… (View Post)1 -
