Since we can't update the "About me" field, I thought I'd put some information here.
I'm a retired electrical engineer, having spent the majority of my career in communications. I hold 32 US patents, mostly on communications subjects.
Although it was not the focus of my career work, I have a decent knowledge of power distribution, both in the US and internationally, especially for residential service. I also have some knowledge of three-phase and single-phase electric motors and their control systems, but mostly only smaller motors maybe up to 10HP.
After I retired, I took classes in woodworking and developed some level of skill. I've taught woodworking classes, short courses, in veneering, carving, dovetails, and box-making. I’ve built a lot of furniture for our home, to the point where my wife told me she doesn’t have room for any more in our house😊
My wife, Judy, and I travel a couple of times a year and I document our trips on our blog, www.mikeandjudytravel.com

Re: Camera
@british - the iPhone can produce good images within certain limits. It's when you attempt to exceed those limits that you get degraded images. If you are satisfied to stay within those limits y… (View Post)3 -
Re: Do African camps provide bean bags in Tanzania & Kenya?
If you can email any of the camps, ask them. They might be able to provide one to you. I shot without one at long telephoto and got what I considered good photos. The bag might give you an advantage … (View Post)1
