Since we can't update the "About me" field, I thought I'd put some information here.
I'm a retired electrical engineer, having spent the majority of my career in communications. I hold 32 US patents, mostly on communications subjects.
Although it was not the focus of my career work, I have a decent knowledge of power distribution, both in the US and internationally, especially for residential service. I also have some knowledge of three-phase and single-phase electric motors and their control systems, but mostly only smaller motors maybe up to 10HP.
After I retired, I took classes in woodworking and developed some level of skill. I've taught woodworking classes, short courses, in veneering, carving, dovetails, and box-making. I’ve built a lot of furniture for our home, to the point where my wife told me she doesn’t have room for any more in our house😊
My wife, Judy, and I travel a couple of times a year and I document our trips on our blog, www.mikeandjudytravel.com

When I took the Galapagos trip on the Silver Origin, we had free laundry - and really took advantage of it. Send a note to Silversea and ask for the VIP package which includes free laundry and premiu… (View Post)1 -
Re: On tour Covid testing
Building on Mil's comments, Tauck always has the end of tour comment forms that we fill out. But the space for comments is very limited. I'd really like to see them allow us to do that form… (View Post)2 -
Re: On tour Covid testing
Cathy's right. We have to do what we can to protect ourselves. I had Covid and didn't know it. A bit of a sore throat which I thought was a normal cold. After a couple of days, my wife insi… (View Post)2
