Since we can't update the "About me" field, I thought I'd put some information here.
I'm a retired electrical engineer, having spent the majority of my career in communications. I hold 32 US patents, mostly on communications subjects.
Although it was not the focus of my career work, I have a decent knowledge of power distribution, both in the US and internationally, especially for residential service. I also have some knowledge of three-phase and single-phase electric motors and their control systems, but mostly only smaller motors maybe up to 10HP.
After I retired, I took classes in woodworking and developed some level of skill. I've taught woodworking classes, short courses, in veneering, carving, dovetails, and box-making. I’ve built a lot of furniture for our home, to the point where my wife told me she doesn’t have room for any more in our house😊
My wife, Judy, and I travel a couple of times a year and I document our trips on our blog, www.mikeandjudytravel.com

Re: Vaccinations for May
I used Costco on our last trip to Africa. I agree - worked very well and price was reasonable. (View Post)1 -
Re: ETA Questions
I agree with MCD. Getting the ETA is good (cheap) insurance. Especially in the beginning of the program they may make exceptions but it's better not to have to depend on that. (View Post)2 -
Re: Yet another Tauck Freebie
Wow, 45 Tauck tours. I feel like a baby. I'm not even up to 20 yet. :) I wonder what the record is for number of tours. (View Post)1 -
Re: Mekong Delta river cruise
No, you do not go to the Mekong Delta on the Tauck VCT tour. I don't know if you'd have time to do that while on the Tauck tour. (View Post)1
