Since we can't update the "About me" field, I thought I'd put some information here.
I'm a retired electrical engineer, having spent the majority of my career in communications. I hold 32 US patents, mostly on communications subjects.
Although it was not the focus of my career work, I have a decent knowledge of power distribution, both in the US and internationally, especially for residential service. I also have some knowledge of three-phase and single-phase electric motors and their control systems, but mostly only smaller motors maybe up to 10HP.
After I retired, I took classes in woodworking and developed some level of skill. I've taught woodworking classes, short courses, in veneering, carving, dovetails, and box-making. I’ve built a lot of furniture for our home, to the point where my wife told me she doesn’t have room for any more in our house😊
My wife, Judy, and I travel a couple of times a year and I document our trips on our blog, www.mikeandjudytravel.com

Re: I wish I had packed....
I guess I should have phrased that differently. "If your hearing aids connect to your smartphone via Bluetooth, so that you can receive phone calls directly into your hearing aids, that's a… (View Post)1 -
Re: I wish I had packed....
One thing to be careful of. Back when I took the trip, Silversea was using a "Vox-like" system that required you to have a smartphone and earphones (wired or wireless). It worked very well,… (View Post)1
