I had a very nice light dinner at the Island Vintage Wine Bar in the Royal Hawaiian Center adjacent to the hotel one night, and a less than satisfying dinner (overcooked fish) at Roy's in Waikiki. I just ate at hotel restaurants/bars the other nights. The hotels on the islands other than Oahu are not convenient to a lot of restaurants. Enjoy your trip!
thanks MCD for your feedback
Oahu: Orchids at Halekulani and Livestock Tavern. Maui: Lahaina Grill and Mama's Fish House. Hawaii (Big Island): Brown's (on property). Kauai: Tidepools (on property). Orchids is noted for their Coconut Cake. Check out these and see what you think.
FYI - Mama’s Fish House is rated one of the best restaurants in the country. Reservations are hard to come by so book as early as possible. If problems, see if Tauck has any pull. Was there over 30 years ago. Enjoy your trip.
from Mama's website: "Due to high demand, we are booked 3–6 months in advance." You can sign up for Alerts re availability. Fish entrees $54 to $78, up from 30 years ago! Glad to hear business is booming.
thanks all for your feedback were going to hawaii 2nd week in may
and mama's fish house is booked up till july it must be a great place
we are going to try the livestock tavern in oahu
On Oahu go to Nicks on the Pier for great fish, On Maui try Star Noodle in Lahaina. Its far from fancy but the food is great. Also, in Maui try to get to the Magic Show, Warren and Annabel. (It sounds silly, but read the reviews. You can have small dinner plates there as well). In Kauai, try 1849 Eating House (Roy Yamaguchi), JO2 and Merrimans. Also the Beach House for the views of the sunset. All are accessible by Uber depending on where you are staying.
