It depends on what is available and which spot your boat is assigned. It can change from departure to departure. I believe river boats dock on both sides of the river but likely you will be on the east (Pest) bank. The docking spaces run the entire waterfront from just south of the Petofe bridge up to nearly the Chain Bridge which is just south of the Parliament building! We were docked downstream of the Szabadsag bridge, nearly across from the Gellert Spa, and just a tad south of the Central Market Hall. If you go to Google Maps, satellite view, you'll see all the boats docked along the bank. If you go to Street view you might even catch sight of a Tauck (Scylla) boat.
When we were there in 2019 the area from near the Central Market (as Alan described) to the Chain Bridge was pretty full of river cruise ships in some cases three deep. Viking alone had 5 ships in port. Ours was docked near the market and it was an easy walk back there after a tour of the market. But it is hard to predict. One person's experience might not reflect yours. Fairly true of all questions here.
