Sea sickness

How bad are the waves on these ships. I can’t do the patch since I’m allergic to them.

I did this trip in late June/early July of 2021 and there weren't any noticeable waves when cruising. I think that is likely the norm for when Tauck tours in Iceland, but weather is weather. I wouldn't let the concern about waves deter you from doing the tour.

  • Our first night on the ship, the sea was very rough, my body kept lifting off the mattress and falling back down again, yes it was rough. Just the one night. I was not sea sick but others were. The captain said this was unusual.

  • Depends on the weather. When we did that tour, we had one day of fairly rough seas but the rest of the cruise was fine. And the rough seas were not too bad - you could walk the halls without having to hold on to the handrail.

You can live, or you can hide. I'd go.

  • Here's pictures of the sea from three different days of our tour. These were typical of what we experienced every day.
