Portrait of India - Pre-Night(s) Suggestions?

Hello! Can anyone share if there are any must-see places or must-do activities in New Delhi that are not included in the Portrait of India tour? Just wondering whether to book one or two pre-night stays at Leela Palace in New Delhi before the start of the tour. Any insight would be most appreciated! Thank you!

I think one night is plenty. Tauck does a good job of showing you the major sights. The one thing they miss is showing you Old Delhi, since the streets are too narrow for the bus. Hire a guide and check out the street markets and spice market ol old Delhi. DO NOT try walking to get around. Delhi is not set up for walking (Mumbai is great for walking). If you're feeling adventurous, you can get around by hailing a tuk-tuk.

We arranged a private guide of Old Delhi through the concierge at Leela Palace in advance of our trip. It was very reasonably priced. Initially the driver and guide drove us in a car but once we got near the old market, they transferred us to tuk tuks. Finally we walked around with the driver and guide - went into the spice market and other specialty shops. And then returned to the hotel via the car. It was a wonderful intro to India!
