Egypt and the Nile

We were on the Egypt and the NIle trip from October 29 to November 7.  There were ten of us in the group including Robin Tauck, daughter Colleen and four of their friends and another couple from Nevada.  Robin and her friends were wonderful travelling companions and a lot of fun.  Robin mentioned that sixteen of her friends cancelled this trip due to the conflict in the Middle East.

We’re happy to have made the trip as some family members and close friends were nervous about it and suggested that we cancel and go another time.  However, at no time did we feel unsafe.  In fact, quite the opposite we felt great and would encourage other people to trust Tauck to take care of its traveling clients for any trip scheduled.  While some of the venues we visited were busy, we thought there were less crowds than we expected. Egypt is a wonderful country to visit with so much history and very friendly people.

Two days after the Egypt trip we joined the Tauck ‘Magic of Morocco’ land tour in Rabat.    It was another small group with only thirteen travelers but we all bonded quickly and had a great time.  The Moroccan people were just as friendly as the Egyptians although there were far fewer.  Our Tauck tour director was Jeff Bennett and he turned out to be one of the best we’ve enjoyed on any Tauck tour.
We are so happy that we didn't cancel any of these trips as we had a wonderful time and would recommend both trips.

  • Jeff Bennett was our TD on the "In Freedom's Footsteps" from Philadelphia to DC a couple of years ago and agree he's a fantastic tour guide.
