Bridges Cruise on Rhone
This was a year of milestone birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, and more for our family of grandparents, parents, and grandchildren--14 in all. We spent several months looking at ways to celebrate--debating an ocean cruise, a cabin rental, or a river cruise. We settled on the Tauck July 2-9 Bridges program that included two nights in Paris, a high-speed train to Lyon, and five nights on the MS Emerald cruising the Rhone River. It was the right decision. Tauck arranged some amazing shore excursions with first-rate guides, and there were activities for all ages (we ranged in age from 14 to 85). They took care of everything from picking up up at the airport or train station, getting us back, even rushing four members of our party whose flight was delayed by a day straight from the airport to the Louvre just in time for a tour to start while taking their luggage to the hotel. Great service, creative programs, good food, comfortable cabins. Our tour guides and directors were well informed, had great senses of humor, and were always ready to help -- even baking a special birthday cake for our 85-year-old, and making sure we could all dine together every evening.
