Autumn Along the Rhine... Munich's Oktoberfest 2024

Hi We are headed to Amsterdam ahead of our Rhine River/Oktoberfest Tour starting Sept. 22 2024. Any good tips for dining/fun while in Amsterdam? This is our first trip to Europe.

    If you are staying at the Sofitel Legend and your time is limited, there is an area known as The Nine Little Streets that is a lovely neighborhood to stroll and explore. If you want authentic Dutch food, try 't Zwaantje Restaurant. There is nothing ostentatious about the place, but the food is excellent and plentiful. We have eaten there several times and have never been disappointed.

    Again, if time is limited you might enjoy just strolling around the canals and the old town area. Should you come upon a houseboat 'museum', go on in and see how many locals live. The charge is nominal.
