Rendezvous on the Seine Questions
Hi everyone - We are booked for the October 3rd 2024 Rendezvous on the Seine trip.
I have a few questions:
- We are arriving a day before the cruise, staying at the Hotel du Louvre through Tauck. For the transportation to the ship from the hotel, when and where do we meet the driver?
- For the Day 2 Excursion: Paris Orientation Tour, which museum will we tour?
- What's the best way to get from the Louvre to the Eiffel tour and back?
Thanks for your help,
David

Hi David, there will be huge group of you going on the tour staying at the hotel. When you check in, make sure you tell them you are on the Tauck Rendezvous tour and they will either have an envelope from Tauck with all the details plus things like restaurant suggestions, or you should get one posted under your door on the next day. If not, ask at the front desk. This is the same for all tours.
Please post a review when you return. We will be doing this tour in May.
We have been to Paris many times on our own, and will be taking the Tauck Paris to Normandy this October. The Metro (or walking) is the easiest way to get around Paris. There are definitely metro stops near the Louvre and near the Eiffel Tower and hopefully you will not have to transfer from one line to another in order to get to both places. (Even if you do, it is easy) As far as museums go, you tour probably includes the D"orsay (Impressionism) and maybe the Louvre. Our favorite museums are the Marmottan (Impressionists), the Picasso Museum and the Carnavalet museums in the Marais, and the Cluny Museum (Unicorn tapestry) The is also the Rodin museum. There will be wonderful museums wherever you look in Paris. The more you walk, the more you will see.
David it appears that your welcome dinner may be at the hotel, the TD should be able to answer all questions you have, the going around by yourselves ask the concierge at the hotel.
We are on the Rendezvous on he Seine in 2025. My pre cruise hotel is booked through Tauck at the Lutetia hotel on the Left Bank. The Hotel du Louvre is the other option offered through Tauck. We do not care about any cost difference for the one night we are paying for in addition to the gift of time included night. Wondering which is the better location for waking/sightseeing/restaurants nearby. Thanks for any advice.
The Lutetia is an outstanding hotel and is probably the nicest Tauck hotel we have had. Location is a personal choice. The Hotel du Louvre has the advantage of beginning right next to the Louvre and is a slightly shorter walk to the Osray and Ornagerie Museum but both are easily walkable from the Lutetia. I like the area around the Lutetia better for general walking around, people watching and choices to dine.
We are going in 2025 also and we chose Lutetia due to so many amazing reviews. We are staying a few days Post Cruise on our own and chose an area near the Louve then, so we will get to stay in both areas.
