Day trips from Brussels

There have been some changes to this tour beginning in 2025 to include a day in Rotterdam with an excursion to Royal Delft and the choice between Ghent or Bruge. My wife and I will have a full day to do a day trip from Brussels prior to the start of the tour. We have already been to Bruge and therefore are planning to go to Ghent. We have narrowed our day choices to Lille, Dinant, or choosing to go to Antwerp to spend some extra time there. For those who have done this tour before, do you think you had enough time in Antwerp?

    My choice would be Antwerp. We spent extra time docked there due to inclement weather on the Yuletide cruise 2023 Dec. Known for its diamond trading, the town also has a vibrant Jewish community. The train station is an architectural jewel and there are many shops and cafés surrounding the beautiful main plaza. The Cathedral was kind enough to invite Tauck travelers to attend certain of its Masses on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

    I have no experience with Lille or Dinant, but I think you will be quite pleased if you select Antwerp.

    We most likely go to Antwerp but are also considering Mechelen which seems to have several interesting things to do.
