Options needed on excursion choices Part 2
Will be one this tour, April 3 2025 sailing and the itinerary on Day 7 shows a possible bike ride from Vernon to Giverny. Have couple of questions and wanted to ask if the bikes used are e-bikes provided by a local biking tour vendor or bikes that are carried on the ship. We did take a bike excursion on our Rhine River cruise a couple of years ago and TAUCK did utilize the services of a local bike tour company that utilized e-bikes. For those who have taken this excursion in the past, how was the ride and surroundings?
Day 9 shows excursion choices of Etretat & Honfleur or Memorial De Caen & Bay Eugene. Not familiar with any of these sites so your input would be appreciated.
Thanks

Honfleur and Etretat. Honfleur is a fantastic Normandy coastal town. Did not do the ride so I can't comment other than the areas is flat.
My husband did the bike ride back in 2016 and enjoyed it. The terrain was pretty flat. They used regular bikes then. If no one has a more current answer you might need to call Tauck and ask.
On the Day 9 excursions, I assume you meant Bayeux not Bay Eugene (autocorrect at work again). It really depends on your interests. I've done all those (on this cruise and the Normandy land tour). If you are very interested in the details of WWII then you'll enjoy the Caen Memorial which is an amazing museum about the war. The Bayeux tapestry is Norman/English history. Basically you walk around a glass enclosure for a close up of the famous tapestry recounting the Norman invasion of England in 1066.
Honfleur is a lovely quaint fishing village with lots of boats, restaurants and shops. Etretat is amazing scenery. It looks like you get more time there than we did as we also had another stop that morning. I'd have enjoyed more time in Etretat to walk on the beach and explore.
