Luggage weight limits

We are scheduled to take the VCT trip this October. I just read that we are restricted to 44 pounds for checked bags and 15 pounds for carry-on. I am very concerned about this because the weather is going to be hot hot hot and precludes re-wearing of clothes and it is a 16-day tour which we have extended. If you have recently taken this tour, are the restrictions hard fast with luggage being weighed? (I don't travel with a steamer trunk - merely a 25-inch suitcase and carryon.) Do the hotels offer reasonable laundry fees? It is not an appealing idea to frequently do sink laundry. Any current information would be greatly appreciated!

    There is laundry available. Lightweight clothing, you can get lots of outfits. Yes, it gets very very humid.

    I get the ultra light merino t shirts that work great in hot weather. They are light as a feather, moisture wicking and wash in the evening and they are dry by the next morning. I'm on that same journey but in Nov. That is how I'll pack. I have never had an issue with weight. Hotels also do laundry. Linen on the other hand can be heavier, so I limit those items
