We received notice today that due to bridge issues our river boat would not go south past sante-Colombe.

I got the same message yesterday. Still hoping it’ll be resolved! The possible thought of being bussed everywhere is not very appealing but I’m sure that Tauck will do their best for us.

This usually happens because of the water level on the river. Since this is the southern part of the tour and the Rhone runs north to south, I assume that the water level is too high and that the boats cannot get under the bridges.

When you return, I'd be interested in knowing if they move you to a hotel in the Arles/Avignon area or if they do excursions from the boat docked further north.

I like your attitude, cscarpenter. We had to stay docked in one place for several days on a holiday cruise because of very dangerous weather and rough water. Tauck handled it in their usual professional way and made sure their guests still had a rewarding and enriching experience.

There is some structural issue with a bridge over the Rhône apparently.
Nothing to do with the water level.
