Malaga

Is there an opportunity to visit Malaga on the Portugal/Spain tour. I didn't see a stop on the itinerary.

  • Unless the itinerary has changed, you will have a free day at a beautiful resort in Marbella. I believe that would be the only opportunity to go to Málaga. You would have to arrange your own transportation, however.

We really enjoyed having that free day in Marbella; the resort sits on the Mediterranean and all Tauck guests were given a room overlooking the sea.

Once again, there is more than one “Portugal/Spain” tour, so it is helpful to use the full proper name of the tour so everyone knows which tour you are talking about. “Treasures of Spain and Portugal”, the small ship tour, goes to Malaga.

    “ Taste of Málaga

The land of dancing Andalucían horses and sherry welcomes you ashore in Málaga and invites you inside a typical manor for a tapas tasting and a private horse show at an Andalucían manor. Later, enjoy a panoramic tour of Málaga highlighted by visions of 14th century Gibralfaro Castle; Plaza Merced; the birthplace of Pablo Picasso, where the painter spent his early years, today the headquarters of the Picasso Foundation, and the ruins of the vast 8th century Alcazaba (Moorish castle). If you wish, join us for a visit to the famed Picasso Museum. You'll have a few hours to explore Málaga as you wish before returning to your ship; after dinner, sail for Gibraltar.
