Kayaking Activity

My wife and I are booked on the January 15, 2026 Tauck tour to Antarctica aboard Le Boreal. We want to do the kayaking activity that is offered by Ponant. The Ponant website indicates ,"This activity must be pre-booked in advance at least 7 days before the start of your cruise. Bookings made after this deadline will only be confirmed once onboard and are dependent on availability"_. However, Tauck told me that we would need to book this activity excursion once on board the ship. We don't want to miss out on the kayaking activity by not booking in advance if possible. Does anyone have experience or knowledge of the process in these regards? Thank you.
