Engelberg Itinerary
My husband and I will be on the Crown Jewel tour in early June 2026. We will be with the group that is staying in Engelberg rather than Lucerne. Does anyone remember the itinerary for the days that you were in Engelberg (if you stayed in Engelberg)? I ask because we will be meeting up with our daughter and SIL in Lucerne after the tour ends. I'm in the preliminary stages of planning activities in Engelberg/Lucerne area and don't want activities to overlap with things we did with Tauck. Any info would be appreciated.

I was on this trip in July 2025 and stayed in Engelberg. I walked from the hotel to the Klosters, a Benedictine monastery and visited its beautiful church. There was also an interesting cheese shop on site selling local products.

As for Lucerne, we had a lake cruise on the way to the walking tour of Lucerne with free time for lunch and further exploration before taking the boat back across the lake to get to the coach to take us back to Engelberg.
A note of caution, only certain types of cheese is allowed into the US and all cheese must be declared at the customs in the US.
they had lots of other goodies besides cheese.
If you are at the Grand Kempinski Palace in Engelberg, it is a beautiful hotel. The rooms all have lovely terraces that overlook the mountains. It is very modern design, and the lounge area and restaurant are excellent. Engelberg is a small town that is around 22 miles from Lucerne. As mentioned by Goddess, the monastery, cheese shop and church are definitely worth a walk, In addition, you can take a cable car to the top of Mount TItlis. The cable car is revolving , and there is a cliff walk. When we were there, Tauck did not pay for tickets for the cable car to Mount Titlis. The town is so charming and the hotel so beautiful, we were very happy with the arrangement being outside of Lucerne.
