Sorting out tipping

This is our first tour that is not fully land, so in the past we have always prepared for the tipping of the TD and bus driver. Everything I read in the Tauck forum implies that that there are no tips which should be preparing for. Are there really no needed tips, and did you adhere to that advice, or did you tip anyone additionally?

  • No need. Your paperwork should spell that out. You will have more than one Tauck. TD

Tauck’s riverboat tours are all inclusive whether on the boat or off the boat. You, of course, are free to extend a gratuity to members of the crew.

We tip our room steward, bartender and the pianist. We have a favorite table and also tip the server(s) with whom we get to know. We do this discreetly and usually at the end of the trip. This is at our discretion. It is certainly not a requirement.

  • One of the best things you can do for the ship staff is to mention them individually for outstanding service on the review card at the end of cruise.

  • If i am going to give extra tips which i do often i do it earlier rather than later. When i identify the people who are improving my experience they get a tip right now … not at the end of the trip.
