July is generally the warmest month throughout the lower elevations of the region. Heavy coats are not required. Layering is my best advice. Merino wool is lightweight and provides exceptional warmth without being bulky. A light jacket, preferably one with a hood, will suffice for outerwear. Footwear with sturdy soles is important as well.
We were there late June. A quick look at my photos show I’m wearing my puffer jacket quite a bit and I don’t get cold easily. We had quite a bit of rain. You will be going up to the top of a snowy mountain and by glaciers too. Take clothing for any conditions

We had quite a bit of rain and the ski lift to the top of a snow covered peak we needed warm clothing.
