Our choices were either the Fairmont properties or Four Seasons when we took this tour. Since we had stayed at Fairmont in Toronto twice before, we chose Four Seasons. Our rooms in both cities were large with immense bathrooms. In Chicago, we had a separate living area with French doors leading to the sleeping room. We had nice views of Lake Michigan. I don’t remember much about the food.
We stayed at the Fairmont. There is absolutely no way I would pay the hundreds of dollars more to stay at the Four Seasons. I have stayed in the Chicago Four Seasons and it is not in the most convenient place for most sights. The Toronto Fairmont is nice and central and when we were there it happened to be the Toronto film festival so we found ourselves in the elevator with a couple of celebrities. Some of our group saw more of them.
The only tour with Tauck where we had a consistently very late person on the tour, so much so that the TD decided we would leave her behind after quite a wait. Good decision.
