Has anyone done a Small Group land tour: A Week in... The Amalfi Coast, Capri & Rome

We've already booked for Sept of 2027, but I'm curious if anyone can share some recent experience (good or bad) or tips for travel before or after? We are currently planning for a week in Tuscany after. Your thoughts?

Lynn, we did the Naples/Capri/Amalfi tour several years ago and there is some overlap. A couple of thoughts. Take something to cover your shoulders if going into churches. Even though you are with Tauck in the Naples train station, beware of pickpockets. Same in Rome. Do not ride the train from Sorrento to Naples, not exactly the safest. The ferry you to take to Capri is a public ferry, you will need to watch stepping in to the seating area because of the threshold. To avoid seasickness sit towards the back. Use the public restroom before docking. The convertible taxis are the best. Take something to hang out at the pool. If you are arriving early, you can take the ferry to Amalfi itself or to Sorrento. Book tickets both ways. The seafood is absolutely outstanding. The Lemonchello will catch up with you. By linen things in Sorrento and sandals in Capri. If you are going to Florence, the high speed train is easy to use. you will need to book tickets in advance. We typically choose first class. If it is a double decker, you will need to carry you luggage up yourself.

We just got back from a 3 week trip to Italy. (One week of which was the Tauck week in Piedmont, which was delightful, and I will try to post some thoughts on that soon.) Before that trip, we spent 5 days in Lucca and did some day trips from there. Lucca is so great. It could possibly win the "Most Perfect Italian City" contest. It's also flat, which is less common in hilly Tuscany. We stayed near the bus station and used it to visit Barga one day. Then took the train out to the coast to visit a family friend on another day. We don't like renting cars in foreign countries but that would be the most ideal way to visit Tuscany.
