No Bayeux tapestry which tour to choose
We are on the Rendezvous on the Seine cruise late August. One of the excursion choices is to see the Bayeux tapestry in Caen however, the museum will close by the time we get there so the tapestry will not be available to see. The alternative is the Entretat tour. Can anyone give me pros and cons of each tour, keeping in mind no tapestry? I know the peace museum is on the same itinerary as the tapestry, but I am not that interested in the peace museum. Thanks in advance.

The tapestry is at the British Museum in London until the summer of 2027 while the Normandy museum is renovated.
Étretat is beautiful.
Go to Etretat. Its a lovely scenic stretch of beach and pleasant seaside town. The Caen Memorial is a very well done WWII museum for those interested.
Entreat and Honfleur unless you are really into WW2. Honfleur is one of my favorite Normandy towns.
As aside note….There has been a lot of news about the tapestry in the past few days. It’s interesting to read how it was prepared for and transported to London and the British museum in the dead of night, There were several practice runs etc. We are visiting London in the Fall so we went on line at 5am the day the first tickets went on sale. Within two minutes we were in a line of over 29,000 people. It was several hours before we got to the front of the queue but managed to get tickets on the day we wanted. The next sale for tickets I believe, is in January.
For a bit of trivia, Etretat is featured in the season 1 final episode of a French tv series called Lupin on Netflix. The series is based on a book series by Maurice LeBlanc who was from Rouen, Normandy. The Lupin character is a gentleman thief and a bit like Robin hood righting wrongs. Mostly filmed in Paris its an excellent series.
