Diplomatic conversation
I am looking forward to giving Tauck a try. I’ve traveled since I was 6 months old, and both my parents and husband were work-related world travelers. I never thought I would need such travel security as Tauck offers senior citizens, but I very much do, as a septuagenarian and a recent widow, but I am apprehensive about it all, which is in itself an alien experience. Much as I want the companionship of peers, I do worry about the atmosphere that exists due the U.S.’s current administration. How have people been handling political conversation? I badly need a break from aggressive speechifying, living as I do in Washington DC. Any reassurance is very welcome!

Very simple. Don’t participate in political conversation. We don’t & won’t and have never had a problem on Tauck or other cruise lines.
I have taken many Tauck trips since the political divide in the US has widened. There has been little, if any, overt political discussion on any of them (although like-minded people probably find each other). I think that everyone is looking for a break from all the discord. Furthermore, I have not run into any non-US resident who has been hostile to those of us who live in the US. Give Tauck a try and enjoy!
Excellent feedback by BSP51 and MCD. In the unlikely event someone attempts to engage you in political discussions, respectfully but firmly let them know you are not interested.
Thank you,
