Signed up for this exciting trip with my parents, husband, and 2 children (will be ages 10 and 12 going on 13 at time of travel).

Any recommendations or must dos, need to knows?

This is a fantastic trip and was our first with Tauck. We took our three boys who were almost the exact age as your children and they loved it. The Tauck guide will take good care of everyone and at dinners will separate the children from the adults so the children can interact with each other and so can the adults. The access to the Vatican, gladiator school, making mozzarella and pizza on the farm... it was all perfectly paced and kept the children's attention all the time, even when we were doing more "adult" activities like walking through the Vatican museum. As for advice, this trip is pretty well planned and there are only a couple of comments that I'd make:

1. In Sorrento you'll have one night without a group dinner. Have the hotel concierge call a restaurant in the old walled part of Sorrento. They will send a driver for you, navigate through the very narrow streets and then bring you back to the hotel.
2. Near the end of your time in Sorrento there is usually a block of time when the kids like to go to the spectacular outdoor pool, so bring bathing suits. (There is also a pool in the beautiful Rome hotel)
3. Breakfast was great and had a huge variety at both hotels
4. We did two Tauck Bridges trips when our kids were younger and one of the best parts was seeing how well all the kids got along and became friends right away.
