There are other threads about this trip. Do a search. That said, I did this trip last year, beginning Sept 10. Temps were comfortable, but there were some hot days. I believe all the hotels had AC, but not positive. Personally, I wouldn't go anywhere in Europe in August, given how temps have risen the last few years. I was in France this year from mid May until early June and we hit some very uncomfortable heat during their first summer heat wave.

We went on this tour end of June. Fabulous! Each day was better than the last. We lucked out with clear days with beautiful views of the Alps. Heat was an issue. Reduced the amount of independent exploring we did, esp in Salzburg. A/C quality was iffy, but no surprise. Its not normally Texas heat. I lived in the UK for 3 years without A/C at home.
Tour director was awesome, lots of extra treats. Bus driver was great. Never scared us on the mountain hairpin turns. Director provided lots of interesting info about social programs and economics of the region. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I'd do it again. We had a good small group. No complainers.
    Next Tauck tour already booked.
