MS Serene cabin questions..
We are excited for our first Tauck river cruise early next month (October 2026). We have heard wonderful things about the line.
I am not sure when the first sailing is/was. But hoping someone can answer some specific cabin questions.
-Does anyone know the number of US outlets in the cabin, and if so where they are located?
-Are the hairdryers generally good in the cabins? I always take mine but I am thinking I may forego that.
-Are there bathrobes in the cabins?
Thank you
Catherine

All of this and more is laid out on the cabin description on the Tauck website. Lots of good info. Yes, the hairdryer is very good.
Go to the website for your trip, scroll down to the picture of the ship and select your cabin category. It will list the room’s amenities. I don’t remember the exact quantity of outlets (different ships), but there were plenty for my limited needs.
I know the cabin category I prefer has robes and slippers, but I don’t want to guess whether all cabins have them. They probably do.
The hair dryer was perfectly fine. As a safety precaution, Tauck prefers that you do not bring your own appliances.
Your first Tauck experience will probably not be your last! Enjoy.
My past 3 River Cruises have been as a solo traveler and I’ve stayed in a Category 1 cabin on each cruise.
It had a robe and slippers and yes, the hair dryer was very good.
Enjoy!!
I was told by a Tauck agent that all cabins have robes and slippers and the same amenities. the only difference between the cabins is their size.
The exact number, types and placement of outlets can vary a bit by cabin type. But all will have at least 1 US type and a couple of European that can be used with simple adapters for dual voltage items like phones and tablets. The cruise we made last year the hair dryers were like the Dyson hair dryer. Very nice. The bathroom will only have a European outlet. They don't like you bringing heated appliances unless dual voltage for safety reasons.
I stayed Cat 1 the last two trips I did and all cabins have robes, slippers, and hair dryers. There are plentiful outlets - one either side of the bed, by the desk/vanity, and in the bathroom. The hair dryer is powerful and fast. Like others have said, if you look at the room specifications of your ship, you'll get a lot of info. Have a good time!
